TAST2 - Spiked Knotted Cable Chain

Stitch of week 35. See Pin Tangle. I left out the Buttonholed Double Chain because I have not yet figured out how it is worked.

What a Joy ...

... that I finally found the time to start my Stitch Files. Buttonhole is one of my favorite stitches. I had made a little sampler piece years ago, included a monochromatic colour study, and a photo of an all-buttonhole piece I did in spring. I referred to my 'Crazy Quilt Library', a photo collection of the CQ details I have made so far. They are all numbered, so I just wrote down the reference numbers for seam treatments and motifs. What I love so much about these files is that I can add to it over time: samples I might find in my UFO box, photos of other stitchers works which I like, detail photos of some of my own works ...

Although these first files cover basic stitches I had never worked samples apart from couching. So I did small samplers of back, herringbone, and cretan stitch. Chevron stitch is still to come.

Was für eine Freude ...

... dass ich endlich Zeit gefunden habe, meine Stitch Files (Stichdateien) zu beginnen. Der Knopflochstich ist einer meiner Lieblinge. Ich hatte vor Jahren eine kleine Probe gearbeitet, habe eine monochromatische Farbstudie einbezogen und ein Foto von einer Stickarbeit, die ich in diesem Frühjahr gefertigt habe. Es gibt Verweise auf meine 'Crazy-Quilt Bibliothek', eine Fotosammlung mit CQ Deteils, die ich bislang gemacht habe. Da alle Fotos nummeriert sind, war es einfach, die Verweise aufzuführen. Was mir an diesen 'Stichdateien' so gut gefällt ist, dass ich sie jederzeit ergänzen kann: mit Pröbchen, die ich vielleicht irgendwo in einer UFO Schachtel finde, Fotos von Arbeiten anderer Stickerinnen, die mich faszinieren, Detailfotos von meinen eigenen Arbeiten ...

Obwohl diese ersten Dateien nur Basisstiche enthalten, hatte ich von vielen noch keine Proben, abgesehen von Couching (Anlegetechnik). Also habe ich kleine Sampler von Rückstich, Hexenstich und dem kretischen Stich gearbeitet. Chevron steht noch aus.

Alle diejenigen, die nicht wissen, wovon ich eigentlich rede, bitte ich, sich auf Pin Tangle anzuschauen, was für ein wunderbares Werkzeug SharonB für uns geschaffen hat.
